In Lagoon Avenue at the Junction of Bernard Road the bank started to slip away at a point where a footpath had been installed earlier. It is believed that the construction of the footpath had initiated the earth movement. This was a huge concern to the residents living above and below the earth movement. Such was the concern the ATCA and the residents organised a petition to the QLDC requesting repair work be carried out. The Council responded and a major reconstruction of the bank has been completed. The work carried out was of a high quality and first indications are that the slip has been contained.
