For a large number of years the ATCA lobbied the NZTA to add Albert Town to the Direction signs on the SH6/SH84 intersection at Mt iron. For years travellers unfamiliar with the area invariably went into Wanaka only to be turned around to come back to the intersection to get to Albert Town. When a new lane was installed at the time the give-way to the right rule was changed, the ATCA successfully lobbied the NZTA and four direction indicators were added at the turnoff. As well a distance to Albert Town was added at the Luggate Hill.
